I took a winter walk today. This beautiful old church dominates our neighbourhood, Le quartier des Tisserands, and is now slated to become the town's new library. The library board's proposal was made a referendum question in last December's municipal election. To our surprise, the measure passed, and now the Quebec government is kicking in some helping funds.
Being a recent arrival, I'm still discovering Magog's charms. Each winter the town floods the path along the shore of Lac Memphremagog, giving skaters a narrow course hundreds of metres long.
I couldn't resist a little stealth street photography when I saw a gentleman with his transport.
Here's a piemaker's shop on lower Rue Principale that doesn't rely much on gaudy publicity, this sign about all that's there to let a person know what's going on inside. Across the street are the massive old textile factories, a selective view of which is my final picture.
